We’re glad to announce that pre-registration for the Ateneo IV is now open. We’re inviting all interested institutions to begin signing up for slots.

Of the 25$ registration fee,  $15 ($45 per team) needs to be paid by March 1 as a deposit in order to secure a slot. We will only be accommodating a maximum of 60 teams on a first-come-first-serve basis, so please pay as soon as possible. There will be a limit of 4 teams per institution, but you may inform us if you wish to send any more teams, and we will include them in the waiting list. To sign-up, please include the following details in your message:

Teams who have successfully registered will receive an email confirming their team information as well as our bank details for their deposits/wire transfers.

On May 7-9, 2010, the Ateneo Debate Society will be hosting the Ateneo IV. We’re delighted to be providing a great venue for teams to sharpen up their skills right before the first United Asian Debating Championship.

Our A-Team is all about Asian excellence. Sharmila Parmanand will stand as the tournaments CA, and joining her in the adj core are Logan (Korea/CA Botswana Worlds), Mark (Singapore), and TJ (Thailand). We also have our Asian DCA from Koc Worlds, Tate (Malaysia) heading tab. You can read more about our adj core and tab team by clicking the links on the sidebar.

Registration fee is set at 25USD per person. For this amount you’ll be receiving lunch on all three debating days, as well as two awesome socials – a break night party and a championship dinner – headed by the same team that made the Ateneo Australs socials unforgettable.

Flights to Manila range from MYR630, THB8900, IDR2233200, KRW170000, SGD295, MOP678, or HKD721, to name just a few. Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine Airlines have excellent low-fare deals, and we’ll bet Jet Star, Tiger, and Air Asia are equally competitive.

Lastly, although we won’t be providing accommodations, we will personally see to it that teams have our assistance in securing hotels and a range of other lodging options for the weekend.
